Last weekend my family visited Benjamin Tree Farm in Waterloo to pick out our Christmas tree. There were so many different sizes, from Charlie Brown trees to giants of the forest! I was looking for something a little smaller than we usually get as anyone with large dogs knows, when their tail swings it usually knocks off an ornament or two (or knocks down the entire tree, like my Bernese has done a few times). I'm really happy with our tree this year and can't wait to take some photos of it!

I was looking for the perfect occasion to wear my new Talbots sweater and "Christmas tree hunting" felt like the perfect time. The sweater is so cute and I have received quite a few compliments on it! It's soft and lightweight, perfect for layering, and since we are in the middle of some above average temperatures it was all I needed to stay warm. The wind did pick up once in a while so I switched between wearing my hat and gloves and going without to stay warm, hot chocolate and hot apple cider at the main building helped keep us warm as well. These boots are a new purchase and so far so good! They have a little heel and are quite insulated, they will be perfect for wearing when we finally do get some snow.

My favourite accessories this winter are my new LL.Bean leather handled boat and tote, this little clutch/carry case my hubby bought for me at Old Navy, my new J Crew hat (previously worn here) and these great red plaid gloves I found at WalMart. I leave them all together at my front door so I can be ready to run out at a moments notice. Christmas is only one week away so I will be using them a lot this week to finish little errands before the big day. I'm still holding out hope we see a white Christmas!
