Mother's Day with Uncommon Goods

Uncommon Goods is a new to me company that offers unique gifts, jewelry, home decor and more making it the perfect shopping destination for Mother's Day! Their online catalog is a source of inspiration and they deliver to Canada (and other international destinations)! Oh happy day for this Canadian girl! It didn't take me long to find a few things that I need like this baseball ballpark blueprint or the grow your own salsa kit but I needed to remain focused on the big upcoming holiday, Mother's Day!

While searching for a potential Mother's Day gift on their website I came across this fantastic custom map beach tote. You can select a NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration) nautical chart to be silkscreened onto a cotton canvas tote. Such a thoughtful gift for your mom who spent time at a certain beach growing up or has fond memories of a time spent on vacation. It would make a great gift for myself, who has many fond memories of growing up on a lake, and my own mom, who has many fond memories of visits to Martha's Vineyard.

I love leaving subtle hints (or sometimes not so subtle) on gifts that I'd love the husband to pick up for me. I was sticking with my 'beach day' theme when looking on the site for potential gifts and I know I'd be a very happy wife on Mother's Day if AMH bought me this Fringe Indigo Kimono. A great cover up for all the beach days I have planned for this summer. And I have a few planned, as well as a Mexican holiday next winter!

Don't think mom would enjoy beach day items for Mother's Day? Not to worry! Uncommon Goods has got you covered with a "Top 25 Gifts for Mothers" page, sure to help get you out of 'gift block'. Personally I think any mom would enjoy the reclaimed wood cookbook stand or the my lucky stars necklace.

Each month employees at Uncommon Goods gather to discuss how to make their workplace a more environmentally friendly, socially responsible and an ever-more rewarding place to work. They are able to achieve this by treating their employees with respect by providing health insurance and a living wage, through their Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and their Better to Give Back program, founded in 2001. Thank you to Uncommon Goods for sponsoring this post!
