What makes a collection? Is it having a certain number of items in the same family or do the items have to fall into a certain category like vintage or common collectibles like sports memorabilia? I would consider myself a collector of a lot of things. I hang on to scrap pieces of beautiful ribbon and keep wine corks from special bottles or occasions. I've been thinking about collections a lot this spring, personally I think I am excited for the antique market to open! When I looked up the textbook definition of collection it stated "a group of interesting or beautiful objects brought together in order to show or study them or as a hobby". I couldn't have said it better myself. So over the next few days I thought I would share a few collections of mine and my family's.

My collections:

Blue and white pottery

Old Mickey Mouse glasses (the '83 Christmas one is my favourite!)

and silk scarves.

What you collect says so much about the collector. I think mine say that I enjoy being at home and I love fashion!

I'd love to hear some of your collections!

  1. What about Colonel Sanders? I've got collections of cake plates, Sophie Conran for Portmerion, white milk glass, purses (!!!), and art! I can't stop with my collecting...
