Put A Sweater On It

I am loving the weather right now. Crisp and cool in the mornings, warm and toasty in the afternoons. This is the type of weather I patiently (who am I kidding, I am not patient at all!) wait all year for. All that being said, I am still clinging to my summer dresses and I have found the easiest way to transition them to fall - put a sweater on it! I'm not talking about just your standard cardigan, I mean like a full on sweater over your dress! I am loving the look and recently wore this outfit to work. I bought this dress last spring at Banana Republic and wore it in this post while visiting London, England. It has become my go-to dress of the summer (so easy to wear with flats and go!) and I didn't want to put it away just yet. I grabbed my striped L.L.Bean three-quarter length sweater (which is perfect for me since I bunch up long sleeves anyway). I'm re looking at all my summer dresses and seeing what sweaters I can pair them with. While I will still put away all my bright pink Lilly Pulitzer dresses until next spring, all those shirt dresses I continue to buy are going to stay in the rotation. They are such a versatile dress through the warmer months and now with the addition of a sweater, will carry me straight through until the snow starts.

The Oldest and I shot these one morning before school/work (that kid is an angel, I tell ya!). He's such a good little photographer and is great at helping his mom with her "outfit photos". In fact, if you follow along here you've probably seen photo credits given to AMH, my husband, and The Youngest, obvs our youngest son. This little hobby of mine is a real family affair and I think all three of them have found their inner photographer in the process.

So my advice, don't hide away your summer dresses - Put a sweater on it!
