His & Her's Gift Guide

Gifts her her, gifts for him, gifts for them! Everything you see here would be well received by anyone on your list. Mom deserves those cute as can be mittens and dad will love tinkering with the Google Home Mini. Your impossible to buy for sister sure will appreciate the new hair straightener and that couple who you just adore will get a great deal of use out of the Williams Sonoma chef's pack!

I've combined the his and her's gift guides into one larger gift guide to make it easier to shop. Also, the line between what is traditionally for her and him is (thankfully!) out the window. Ladies and Gents need so many of the same things!

A few minor exceptions would have to be the shaving kit from Detroit Barbers. This will be a well received gift pack from the man in your life. The kit includes a carry case, razor and extra blades, oil and soap. I only just heard about the company this morning from my husband who happens to be in Detroit on a regular basis. They also have two barber shops in Ferndale and Corktown that offer a range of services so if you're in the area, why not add a gift card for some services.

While we're on the subject of Detroit, why not pick up a collegiate school sweater from Hillflint. If Michigan is not your alma mater, or a school you cheer for, search their listings where you can find over 100 other schools to choose from! I loved college basketball growing up and Georgetown was my team! The sweaters have a great retro vibe to them making them a great gift for the prep, jock or hipster in your family.

I want candy Is all you'll be singing with a special gift from Sugarfina. The luxury candy company out of Beverly Hills is known for their beautiful blue packing and their champagne gummy bears (my fave!). You can order holiday gifts online ranging from $12 all the way to the holiday candy trunk at $195! If you're hoping to add a few Nordstrom Rewards to your account, you can pick Sugarfina products up from them as well. and good news for all my Canadian readers - Sugarfina has just launched their Canadian .ca website, which includes all prices in Canadian dollars. Us code 'sweetdelivery' when you spend $65 or more and get free shipping! How sweet it is!

For those of us that live in a cold climate for a good portion of the year, we have to work extra hard on our fashion. Our outerwear fashion that is! This cheery red jacket will not only add a pop of colour to your wardrobe, it will keep you warm as it is rated on the 'warmest' scale on L.L. Bean's site. Add a matching hat and mitts set from Draper James, and you are all set for winter adventures outside.

High tech gadgets always seem to be at the top of wish lists. I was recently sent a Google Home Mini (c/o Google) and not only do I love it, my kids do, too. So much so that they stole mine and now I'm planning on buying them one of their own (they don't read here so their gift isn't spoiled). I can't wait to get mine back so I can keep it in the kitchen, which is the hub of our home. I like that my Spotify account is linked and I can play music, ask for weather and news updates, and can ask it to turn my lights on and off or change channels on the tv.

In our house, we go through so many sets of headphones, that is until we bought Beats by Dre. I have a pair of corded white ones that have been my travel companion through a dozen or so airports. I would love to upgrade my set to these cordless rose gold earphones that would match my rose gold iPhone. Rose gold not your thing? They have quite a few other colours to choose from, sure to please any member of the family.

Another tech item my boys are after is the PS4 crystal dual shock controller. I tried asking why this was such an important controller and my two boys started talking at once, over top of each other, in rushed voices to basically tell me it's the best controller right now. I can't share all the reasons why it's the best, but from their excitement, I am assuming this is a big deal. There will be some Black Friday deals on this controller so if there is a gamer on your list, pick one up quickly before they sell out.

Last Christmas my family was gifted a Ninja and I don't even remember what life was like before it. It quickly became a staple in our kitchen! I use it in the mornings to make fresh fruit smoothies, my husband uses it when he makes up his own salsa and soups. The blades cut through ice beautifully making smooth iced drinks in the summer, too! This Williams-Sonoma gift set also makes a great gift for the amateur chef in the family. The iconic red apron comes with matching oven mitt, towel and pot holder, everything they need to get started.

Dry indoor air and cold blowing winds reeks havoc on my hair. So many frizzys! I never knew who terrible my old hair straightener was until I had to replace it. I bought the Revlon 2 in 1 Conditioning Styler a few months ago to help with some wayward strands and it worked like a charm. My old straightener didn't even make a dent with my hair! I was shocked at how well it worked, especially for an item that costs less  than $40. I think this would make a great friend gift, maybe alongside a nice hair conditioning mask.

We all know that one (or two, or three!) family member that loves to travel. Why not gift them a Hudson's Bay stripe weekender bag, or this Drives of a Lifetime book sure to inspire their next road trip. And while travelling is fun and all, it sure is nice to come home and sleep in your own bed. These luxurious pillows from Martha Stewart are all you need to get a good night's rest. I was once gifted a wonderful set of pillows and I always remembered how great a gift it was so I am happy to gift them now to others as I know they will be used and loved.
