Resort Wear Recommendations 2019

Resort Wear
You know what's better than dreaming of a warm weather getaway? Actually going on one!
Earlier this year I put out a request and asked you what you wanted to see here on Celebrating This Life. Turns out a lot of you are headed somewhere warm and you wanted some resort wear recommendations. First, lucky you! Secondly, I am happy to share what I would be packing if I were headed somewhere warm this year.

I'm choosing to stay home with the puppy this winter (my motto right now is where I go, Ivy goes) but I want you to promise to send me photos of you enjoying the sun and sand. I will be living vicariously through you!

One shoulder swimsuit// Pretty, has great fit reviews, and all at an excellent price point! For beach vacations I always bring one bikini (love this top & bottom both on sale!) and one full piece. It's nice to have the option to wear what feels comfortable that day and to allow time for the other to dry.

Yeti// Use for copious amounts of coffee in the morning and then cold water throughout the day. Fill at night with pina coladas, virgin or spiked, and repeat until you have to come back to reality.

White or Navy trim terry tunic// The first thing I pack on a beach vacation, winter or summer, is my terry tunic. It's the perfect cover up and the material is SPF 50+ protected.

Tiered maxi dress// If your beach vacation is at a resort, make sure to check the dress codes at the onsite restaurants. Many will ask that men wear pants, shoes and coats, and ladies should be in dresses that do not resemble beach wear. I always bring one maxi dress that can be dressed up for the evening and dressed down for a day of sightseeing. This candy coloured number would work with flip flops and a sun hat for day and wedge sandals and statement earrings for night.

Beach Bag// Leave the purse at home, just bring an all purpose beach bag. Something that you can use as a carry on with a few magazines and a scarf for the plane, and can hold your camera and sunscreen while on vacation.

Stretch shift dress// Going on a warm weather vacation without a little Lilly? Not on my watch! This colourful brand is known for their shift dresses and this one is an updated version with little sleeves. Wear with white tennis shoes to and from the pool then later reuse those statement earrings and head to a local bar with live music.

Fuchsia stripe zip polo// Another clothing item that is infused with SPF 50+. Wear when the sun is at its peak to help protect your skin. Great to cover up a bathing suit and to wear on the plane with leggings.

Wedge sandals// One pair of nice shoes, one pair of runners, one pair of flip flops. I'm telling you that's all the footwear you need for a resort vacation. Leave all others at home, especially the high heels. One bead of water on a slippery floor and you are spending the rest of the vacation laying in bed.

Hydrangea long-short pajama set// Your pajama drawer is probably filled with flannels right now and that just won't do in hot, muggy weather! I use warm weather vacations as an excuse to buy new summer sleepwear and this set looks like it will keep you cool and warm at the same time. The long sleeves are perfect for those sleepers who like to keep one arm out of the blankets. When you're not used to the A/C your arms can get cold quick!
